Wilbert Dean Miles Sr. was born on August 2,1939 to Eddie and Bernard Miles of Zackery Louisiana.

Dean born and raised in Louisiana a graduate of Zackery High School, was drafted into the Military in 1960. Dean served and fought for his country where he served two tours in Vietnam. He was a Logistics officer and completed a host of assignments around the world for the Army Intelligence Office. He retired after 22 years as a Sergeant First Class(E7) Dean was awarded the following: National Defense Services Medal /Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Devices /Vietnam Service Medal /Meritorious Unit Citation (3rd Award) Overseas Service Bar(3) Army Commendation (1 OLC) Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm /Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Unit Citation /Bronze Star Medal/Meritorious Service Citation.

During his military career he met the love of his life Mable Lee Miles and from their 53 year union were three Sons.

Dean was known as the neighborhood father (aka POPS), always taking the time to motivate and provide direction to the other children, his statement was,"where there is a will there is a way" no excuses! He was strict, firm and fair with the rule ...don't let the street lights catch you. If you knew him you were blessed!

Dean leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mable Miles; a sister, Bernard Robinson; one daughter, Terry Wicker of Louisiana; three sons, Dean (Lillian) of California, David (Nicole) of Maryland, and Brian (Lenore) of North Carolina; eleven grandchildren Victoria, Brandon, Brielen, Zoe, Cameron, Yasmeen, Andre, Morgan, Madison, Devin, and Rita; one great grandchild, Xazion D Bradford and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
