Deacon Hubert Thomas Carr departed this life on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at his home in Fredericksburg, VA. Hubert was born in Halifax, VA on October 21, 1946, to the late Beverly T. and Thelma Jennings Carr. He was educated in Halifax County Public Schools. He accepted Christ at a young age and became a member of Sunflower Baptist Church in Nathalie, VA.

Hubert was employed at Burlington Industries in Halifax, VA for 10 years before moving to Alexandria, VA where he worked at Alexandria Scrapping for 20 years. Hubert later continued his education to receive his certification in Diesel Tech Mechanics in Roanoke Rapids, NC and a second certification in Auto Mechanics in Grand Rapids, MI. In 1994, he started his own business, Carr Trucking and Paving Company, where he employed all four of his brothers and two of his sisters.

Aside from his work, Deacon Carr was devoted to his faith and committed to the church. Hubert loved being a Deacon. He was ordained at Harvest Assembly Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Johnnie L. Abrams. Hubert always enjoyed helping others and serving his church with a smile.

Hubert loved cars, fishing, traveling and spending time with loved ones. Gatherings of family and friends were his favorite occasions; he was always looking forward to the next family reunion. Hubert had a genuinely generous and loving spirit, and used his time and talents to help family and friends.
