I am REALLY saddened to hear of Ben's passing. We shared OLPH AND ACHS. He was an early graduate of the school and he was always so gracious, friendly and a willing giver of history of both. He treated me with so much respect and friendliness, even though I looked up to him in life stature. He wore his love of life and upbringing with dignity and humility, even though he was a giant of a man. When I saw him on the field as a local referee, my chest poked out knowing that he was MY homeboy from southeast and Carroll. I saw him last at Ms. Stewart's services and he gave me that gapped tooth smile. He will be missed! Sincerely, Brian Yeldell OLPH Class of 1976, ACHS Class of 1980.

Just saw Ben at OLPH's annual fish fry. So glad that I was able to hug and chat with him before God called him home. My sincere sympathy to the family.
