My deepest condolences to the family and friends of this great man. We called him "Steele" or "Motor Man", and he was one of the best bailiffs for Prince George's County District Court. He had my back on everything when we worked together. May his soul RIP

"Steel Bill" :was one of the football coaches for my son at the Fort Washington, MD. area Community Recreation Assoc. team . Coach Conaway was one of the important adult leaders in the Fort Washington community who took the extra effort towards youth development and concern. He was not only a players' Coach but was also an admired adult friend ! Either on the football field or at the local grocery store his players would always seek out Coach Steel Bill. ( their coach and friend.)

He was an asset to the Fort Washington community !

Bill was the smiling face, and authoritative figure, at so many Maryland games. Always pleasant and always helpful. When my wife was on crutches or cane, he was there to assure us easy parking and access at Cole. We joked about my absences due to job travel and how my wife came to games accompanied by others. In return, I brought him a small gift from Malaysia: a faux Rollex, big and bulky, it went fit Bill. My wife and I were pleased, nay honored, to be included in his retirement dinner.

Bill was an outstanding human being. No one ever had a bad thing to say about him. I worked with him for over years as Police Officers. He was incredibly professional and courteous to everyone. He will be missed. Rest in Peace my friend!

#RIP - to retired corporal William Bill Conaway aka Steel. Steel was a no non-sense College Park/P.G. County legend in his own right that made everyone feel a little bit safer whenever he was present. His genuine caring spirit is one of the many great things I'll always remember about him. I'll also remember his motorcycle skills in rush hour traffic. He was the only corporal I knew that could lead a police escort and team bus and get you

#RIP - to retired corporal William Bill Conaway aka Steel. A UofMD/P.G. County legend in his own right. U knew u were a little bit safer whenever he was present. His no non-sense genuine caring spirit is one of the many great things I'll remember about him. I'll also never forget his motorcycle skills. He's was the only corporal that could literally lead an escort and get a team bus from College Park to BWI in the middle of rush hour traffic in 30-35mins top!! Sending prayers and condolences to the entire family.
